Did I forget to say something?

This is lex's response to me whenever I tell her no, in hopes that if she forgot to say "please" or something else, that I'll change my mind.

Tonight's example:

Lex:
Mommy, I want to bring this ice pop to dinner tonight?
Jen:
No, baby, you can't bring it.

Catching up!---December 2007

I have so many pictures to post and so many updates that I don't know where to begin! We've done so many fun things this month! I'm going to work my way backwards so that I don't forget anything.

First, Lex had a special day today with her special friend, Ms. Katelyn, who was also lex's pre-school teacher. Ms. Katelyn is leaving to teach in England and Lex is so sad, which makes me sad! Alexa has progressed with leaps and bounds under her care and guidance. She's such a great teacher!

Anyway, Ms. Katelyn came over today and Lex was waiting for her since 6 am :) They went to the park and Lex showed Ms. Katelyn everything! They had lunch at the mall, rode the merry go round and the train!

Cookies for Santa!

I love the new cookie plate Lex made this year!! So cute and so perfect for Santa to eat his cookies and milk from!

Reindeer Food

Alexa made reindeer food with oatmeal sprinkles and of course, some red and white sparkley glitter so Rudolph could find the food in the moonlight of the yard!

Alexa made sure that she made a bag for herself and a bag for Andrew. Andrew made sure that he spread his out in a path, whereas Lex put her food in the yard in little piles in each corner. The next morning when we went outside, lex saw some of her piles and none of Andrew's and she kept saying "I should have made paths" .

Zoolights!

Lex, Bran, GG and Uncle Dan ventured into DC to attend the Zoo Lights Display at the National Zoo. It was a perfect night and we drove around DC to see the White house afterwards! Lex LOVED seeing all of the lights!

This is the waterfall display! The way this picture was taken makes the water almost look like ice!

Lex and Samuel's Sleepover

Boy oh Boy, did we have fun when Samuel slept over. Bran, Lex, me, Uncle Dan and Samuel first had dinner at Pei Wei in Leesburg. We let the kids choose either Pei Wei or Kobe (ie turn left or right and Samuel chose left!) and they had a blast eating their noodles with chopsticks. Samuel actually had more fun sitting with Bran and stealing his rice! Samuel also had an intense conversation with Lex's Uncle Dan about transformers. We stopped over at my mom's house and Samuel discovered that GG didn't have Uncle Dan's childhood transformers and my mom told Samuel that she thinks she probably put them in the garbage as Uncle Dan is 3o years old. That ensued countless questions from Samuel: GG, why did you put Uncle Dan's Stormstream in the garbage? why gg? Uncle dan, where are your tranformers? Excuse me, Uncle Dan, did you have the transformer that turns into a radio?

We couldn't stop giggling. Lex and Samuel played SO well together! Lex wants another sleepover SOON!

Decorating the Tree!

Growing up, we always had a fake christmas tree. Because of this, I swore that when I had my "own" tree, that it would always be a real tree. For the past 10 years, I've kept that tradition up, but it always caused me so much stress in finding the time to chop it down and then in standard Jen fashion to find the Perfect tree. This I broke down and decided that we would buy a fake tree. My mom and I went to Target, Home Depot, Loews, Costco, Sams, and Michaels to find a tree that would work. We finally found the most gorgeous prelit Colarado pine from Target and trucked it home. When I go to take it out of the box, I thought it looked a little weird and realized that IT WASN'T the tree I had picked out! It was a much cheaper tree from KMART because the TAGS WERE STILL ON IT! My mom and Bran couldn't stop laughing...Needless to say we took it back to Target and found out that this switcheroo is a common occurrence!!! Fortunately, we were able to get my prelit Colorado Pine. Lex LOVED decorating the tree this year and did a great job!

Santa

Santa,
I want horses, a horse carrier, a village, a fairy village.
Love,
Lexie

Leesburg Parade

The blessing...

At school, the kids say a blessing before they eat their daily snack and lunch.
Last year's blessing, involved Lex folding her hands on her head and saying:

Thank you for caring
Thank you for sharing
Than you for being my friend
Buono Appetite
Now you may Eat.

This year, there's a new blessing and Lex *somehow* can never remember it to tell us.

Well tonight, before we were eating dinner, exclaimed "I need to say the new blessing."

It went something like this:

1 2 3

Thank you for us
to be for us
the friends beside us
and the love between us.

It was super cute hearing her say this.

Alexa's Advent Calendar

I made Lexo's advent calendar this year and so far it's been a huge hit. It's partially filled with little toys and little activities. I've convinced Lex that the Advent Fairies come at night and leave her little things. Yesterday, was the first opening and Lexo received a little snow seal.

Today's adventure was to cut out snowflakes, however, it was a short lived adventure since Lexo fell on her hand today and has been complaining about "her bones". My schmoo.
